I have a database that manages data sets hierarchically organised (tree structure).
The tree structure is in a treedata table, with data such 'dataset','N', 'fatherN', 'isHidden'
isHidden allows to show/hide nodes.
Some elements are computed such as depth in the tree, outline header (with a 1.1.1.1... pattern), reading order
Code has to perform :
a- verify tree structures (especially detect cycles),
b- calculate node attributes depth, reading order and outline header (global calculation),
c- move a node in the tree without having to recalculate all the node attributes (smart recalculation).
Speed for attribute calculation (smart and global) is the major issue.
Attributes are to be written to the node attribute table.
Tree visualisation is not required.
Please read the specification enclosed.
Thanks,
## Deliverables

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. ## Platform
Script is executed under VB6 (vbscript under access is ok, t-sql stored procedure not OK).
Connection to the database is done through ADO.
The main target is Access 2000
The code should include adaptation for working with Sql Server 2000 and mysql5.0.
