DHTML ListView Control

Summary: Company seeks a useable DHTML control which casually mimics the standard Windows ListView control. The code must be unobtrusive so that browsers which do not support it can degrade gracefully.? For an example of unobtrusive DHTML refer to [this site.][1] Assume an? XHTML document containing an arbitrary table with varying columns and rows is given.? This table's id is "listview".? Varying columns;? first column's innerHTML contains arbitrary data including? optional image and optional checkbox/radio.? Code should locate this table? upon initialization and transform it? into a ListView-like control. Code should be able to detect the presence of the THEAD tag and consider the row's columns within to be the table header.? No THEAD tag = no header. Most important column is the? 1st.? ? Subsequent columns? only show up in "Details" view.? ? 1st column may contain? an image, a radio/checkbox, and some text, but not always. First image of the first column? is item's icon.? Icon will be 16x16, 32x32, or 64x64.? Code should adjust the icon size according to the view.? No image = use predefined default icon. Single-select or multiselect (or just a list) depending on whether or not a checkbox/radio button is found? in column 1.? ? Element should be removed/hidden from the document;? selected items will? use style as defined by the table's :active pseudo if? found. Remaining cell content must be left unchanged. Control should retain? same? width as the initial table.? Scrollbars optional but it is not necessary. See the included file "[login to view URL]" within the attached .zip for a more detailed descrtiption of the project. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working? script in executable form (.js) as well as complete *commented* source? code of all work done. 2) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform The languages you will be working with to complete this project are XHTML, Javascript, and possibly CSS.? No VBScript please. Script must conform to the standard W3C document object model, unless where this conformity breaks browser compatibility. Script must? be fully functional and operate identically? under Internet Explorer 6+ as well as Firefox 1.5+.? Compatibility with other browsers is not required but is preferred.
