Need a custom circuit design for a universal remote control for televisions, cable boxes and dvd players.? This unit needs to be designed using a 8051/8052 or similar processor....COST IS KEY!!! I do not want expensive IC's in this device, I need it all low cost components.? Here are the specs: 1. Buttons: ? [unit controls] ? a. TV ? b. Cable/Satellite box ? c. DVD Player ? d. Power ? [channel/volume controls] ? a. channel up ? b. channel down ? c. volume up ? d. volume down ? [number pad] ? a. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0 ? b. enter ? [menu control pad] ? a. up ? b. down ? c. left ? d. right ? e. enter ? f. menu ? [navigation] ? a. |< ? b. << ? c. >> ? d. >| ? [programming] ? a. setup ? 2. Functions [power] Hitting unit (TV, DVD, etc.) then hitting power will turn on/off the device. [channel/volume] Hitting volume up/down will send the respective signal to the tv Hitting channel up/down will send the respecitive signal to the tv [number pad] hitting up to three digits (145, for example) then hitting [ENTER] will send the tv to the proper channel, or if no ENTER Is pressed within 5 seconds, will change the channel [menu control pad] Hitting MENU will send the menu signal to the TV when in TV mode, and will send the menu signal to the DVD player when in DVD mode, and will send the MENU signal to the Cable/Satellite box when in the Cable/Satellite Mode the up/down/left/right and enter will allow navigation through the menus [navigation] will send first, previous, next and last chapter to the DVD player [programming] when setup is pressed, an associated unit needs to be pressed (TV, DVD, etc.). At this time, the system will expect 4 digits for a programming code, i.e., 0047. Once this is entered, the unit will maintain the code for the unit in its system. ? ## Deliverables 3. General THere will be an LED which will illuminate when the keys are pressed, and will also perform the following functions: 1. When the SETUP button is pressed for programming, it will stay solid. When the unit is pressed afterwards (TV, DVD, etc.), it will double flash and stay solid. When the 4 digits are entered, it will flash 3 times, then go off, and automatically switch to the unit that was just programmed so the user can start playing the dvd, moving channels up/down, etc. Must run on two AAA batteries, and must maintain memory even when batteries are removed. Must be able to communicate to most major TV/DVD/Cable box/satellite box manufacturers. Please keep in mind that this needs to be EXTREMELY low cost. We are looking for a quote to do a prototype of this board (quantity 5), as well as a PCB design on a 1.5" x 4" board (prototype does not have to fit in that space) Need surface mount design for production PCB, but can be solder through for prototypes. Need an output that Altuim software can read, and ready to go to production gerbers, etc. Need a component list with costs broken down.
