iPhone application (via Apple SDK)

REVISED: Coding of iPhone app w/ Apple SDK. This is complete app project, our design to final installer. Intend to distribute to public. Application calculates location in the sky of specific orbiting body: where in the sky the object is at specific time / place. App to create plot of object path for a date. Math required is known, we can provide primer of calculations. This is "friendly" app for a non-scientific user. Think iPhone: usability with clean UI are important. We will be involved in refining interface for smooth user experience. Typical user session: User selects a location from database internal to app. App to give "city resolution": there could be a multilevel tree: NORTH AMERICA > US > CALIFORNIA > LOS_ANGELES. Database is LAT/LON table (not shown, internal). User then selects a date, default is current day. Typical user selects dates in for near future (ie current month) yet program should use SDK calendar to allow choice of any reasonable date. User can now execute main command (ie, the SOLVE button). This gives main output: a plot showing the location of object vs time of day. This has to be a concise screen to interpret the data graphically. See examples of similar plots (attached). Some MIN MAX values can be overlaid, output is all to single screen. outline: 1) welcome screen 2) preference pane: default location, units preferences, etc. 3) main screen: select location, date, launch the solve. leads to: 4) output screen: plot produced can be manipulated via SDK: zoom in, slide, etc. 5) detail screen off of this giving raw plot points on table: numerical output every quarter hour for example (could be navigated to via an iPhone "flip" to "behind" main output) user can exit back to main screen via option of: a) saving solution as "favorite" for recall b) emailing plot graphics and data to a contact in address book c) discard solution (start over) That's the basic idea. Since SDK is new please state related experience if none on iPhone: Mac coding experience for instance (ie, various Apple interface SDK) Please be clear as to any applicable experience with similar device or geo-type projects. Thanks. ## Deliverables We will provide flowchart / overview showing the basic operation screens and functionality as starting point. We will provide example chart outputs (see attachment of how this data is usually plotted - these are not final, just to help visualize app functionality). Coder can suggest improvements for usability and/or coding -- ie, coder can be involved in finalizing project plan - we are flexible in that we are focused on creating a great user interface and work flow for application and are willing to take input before locking in plan. Coder will okay plan and then commit to executing as designed at that point.
