Create a custom version of the Joomla menu module. The only adaptation is to make the menu show sub-menu's in case the parent is an alias. Currently it only shows sub-items if the parent is the active itemId. I suspect this adjustment is no more than a few lines of code. Menu 1, actual items: root root/section root/section/article1 root/section/article1-1 root/section/article1-2 root/section/article2 root/section/article2-1 root/section/article2-2 root/section/article3 root/section/article3-1 root/section/article3-2 Menu 2, using aliasses: art2 art2/art1-1 art2/art1-2 When you click on the menu "art2" the sub-menu art2-1 , art2-2 will not expand and become visible. This is because "root/section/article2" becomes active and not the alias "art2" I want the sub-menu "art2-1 , art2-2" to become visible even if the parent is an alias.

Hi Sir, Did you used Joomla's alias or another extension's? Did you used Joomla's default template or another one? I think this is a template bug, the template can not get the menu itemid so can not show the real sub menus.
