Project Manager

Job Description:

The Project Manager II has client-facing responsibility for the implementation of enterprise client programs, VMS/MSP transition projects, and strategic internal projects. This person will use MBO’s established process, project plans, and other templates to drive projects to successful completion.


• Lead and consult on both major/minor projects within established client programs. This includes influencing project initiation, planning, execution, and deployment.

• Typical project types managed include:

• VMS transitions

• MSP transitions

• Integration projects

• Strategic internal projects

• New client program implementations

• Leverage experience above and MBO discovery templates to conduct requirements gathering sessions and determine the appropriate course of action.

• Quickly resolve complex issues that impede the project schedule so that MBO can continually drive results and maintain project momentum.

• Interpret client desires to produce innovative solutions in accordance with best practices in contingent labor.

• Identify areas for innovation within existing implementation methodology standards and successfully pursue those changes to create better experiences for MBO and its’ clients.

• Appropriately escalate project concerns that impact scalability/profitability and facilitate key decisions amongst internal stakeholders on those matters.

• Jointly lead and support discovery efforts for strategic internal projects, including those related to key service offering rollouts, technology, and process reengineering.

Skills & Experience

5-7 years of experience in a relevant industry where strong Account and Project Management skills were utilized to implement enterprise client programs with large multifaceted organizations and multiple stakeholders. The ideal candidate’s skills will be aligned as much to an account/relationship manager as they will to a project manager, though both are important.

• Previous experience managing contingent labor programs and in-depth knowledge of Managed Service Providers (MSP) & Vendor Management Systems (VMS)

• Skilled in MS Visio, Project, Excel and task management software

• Strong organizational, analytical, and prioritization skills

• Experience developing and delivering client presentations

• Experience leading “change management” initiatives for large scale projects.

• Knowledge or experience with contract workforce issues especially related to Independent Contractor Compliance

• Knowledge of HR law, federal / state wage laws, and general pay policies, procedures, and regulations
