Hello Don,
I am a keen writer, and though I do not yet have any published work, I think I can fulfil your brief.
I have studied your requirements and I attach with this bid a synopsis and short 200-word extract of a proposed short story provisionally titled 'Miss. Rainbow and the Charmed Mirror'. This is something I produced just now, in literally 15 minutes, so it may be slightly rough around the edges, but I hope you like it. It's just a suggestion and not necessarily meant for the 'Miss. Rainbow universe', though it could be adapted for this, which is why I have posited the lead character as 'Miss. Rainbow'.
I am willing to work for the bid price quoted ($160.65 converts to £100.00 currently, which I think is reasonable), payable in full on production of the first draft. I would accept this sum as a one-off fee for the first book on a work-for-hire basis, but I would also want to receive 10% royalty on any gross sales worldwide (all languages and formats) of the book above a certain minimum target. I would suggest an initial target of $1,000.00.
I would also require sole credit for the story. You would be co-credited for the creation of 'Miss. Rainbow' character and for any illustrations.
I am happy to keep things fairly informal at this point so that we can see how it works, and if you are happy with my work, we could then re-negotiate more formal terms for a series. I believe that is a sensible way to work.
My turnaround would be 30 days per book (that is, for production of a first draft). I would of course aim to produce the work quicker for you, and so far as the first book is concerned, the Christmas/New Year holiday will help in that respect. You would be responsible for editing, illustrations and translations.
If the above interests you, please contact me.
Kind regards,
Tom.
