Hi there I am an enthisast programmer developing an android app that allows me to connect my Android phone to a Bluetooth Serial port converter which then connects to a healthcare monitor and accesses data such as heart rate/ BP . I have worked many months getting this sorted but the connection to the device and the socket is \" flaky\" . Sometimes it connects whilst other times I need to have 2 or 3 goes at connecting. The device I am connecting to is a Serialio Bluetooth-Serial Port Dongle: [login to view URL] The data collection is quite complex but I don\'t really need help with that part of the project. I have used the android example software for bluetooth connection. The files I am going to post are the: Main activity file The Connect Thread File The Conected Thread File I am sure I doing something basically wrong in the scoping of the variable and not closing sockets at the same time. Any solutions to a stable connection protocal would be most welcome
