I plan to begin by analyzing the MS VC++ sources from the last attempt to understand the existing code and identify any errors. Once I have identified any errors I will then debug the code and make necessary corrections to ensure that the transmission and reception process works properly. I will then create a loopback program which will transmit a block of data on COMx out of a prefilled buffer while receiving on COMx (same port) into another buffer. I will also compare the two buffers, count and report any errors, and then clean up and do it again. I have extensive experience in developing and debugging Windows applications as well as working with COM ports. I am confident that I can deliver a working program that meets your expectations. There's only one ambiguity: how is the TX buffer prefilled? Is it hardcoded or passed as an argument? Or does it become RX after one interaction has completed?
