Software developer needed for internet start-up. Location: The job is an activity not a location as a starting point. We are fine with you working from home. We need a software developer to build a subscription based social media platform incl. integration of a payment solution. The platform will let user’s track and share diet progress through their own timeline. Users will be able to comment and like each other’s post and request ‘friends’ similar to other social media concepts. Users will also be able to search for other users and groups and be able to create designated groups. Each user will have simple tools for setting objectives and tracking progress through a blog like timeline. We will be launching the website in phases and have a release plan ready split into phases also describing each little element and feature into precise details. Role description and background We are currently two commercial people and one technical consultant on the project who has been working for the start-up for half a year now. We are now recruiting for a senior software developer who can go fulltime or part time with us on the start-up to lead the software and web development of the platform. In phase 1 we are not looking to hire a technical team, but first of all need proof of concept and will have you serving as the main developer as well as owner on all technical aspects of the platform. You might be assisted by freelancers within different areas if necessary. Dependent on candidate chosen the technical consultant might assist short run, but is not intended to stay with the company. Who are you? You can code in .NET and MSSQL, are surely a web wizard and are likely to have a bachelor’s in Computer science or similar, however this is not a requirement. You have a broad coding knowledge of .NET (This is a requirement). You have great familiarity of the latest web technologies including jQuery HTML5, CSS3 and so forth. The project will likely span across multiple frameworks and it’s also an advantage that you are familiar with database design and development. As a person you are proactive, take ownership and are driven by the start-up dream by working in a small dedicated environment where you fit in as a technical lead delivering world class web technologies.
