I want to replace a welder control that consists of momentary on micro switch and a potentiometer that acts as a voltage divider. The micro switch activates a number of things in the welder but is essentially just a switch that operates on small voltage (sub 5v and low current) The potentiometer is a voltage divider to control the welding current from 10 to 200amps. the potentiometer is just in the control circuit and does not see the welding current it is also very low current and less than 5v The aim of this project is to mimic this circuit by designing a circuit either analogue or with use of Arduino where the only input is a force sensing resistor. By pressing the force sensing resistor the welder switch is activated and then as the FSR is pressed harder the welding current is increased.
