Filter Circuits. Multisim. Low/High and Band Pass

Build the following circuits in Multisim (designs will be provided in Lab 4 attachment). Answer questions and fill out report. Ensure you attachment bode plots etc to report and any calculations and comments. 1. Construct a passive low pass filter consisting of a 10kΩ resistor and a 10nF capacitor. Use Multisim to examine its frequency response. Examine the effect of producing a 2nd order and a 3rd order by simply duplicating and cascading the stages. Comment on your findings. How could these higher order filters be improved? 2. Using Multisim simulate the 1st order Low Pass Filter in Figure 1 using the correct equations to find the value needed for the capacitor. Plot the magnitude (dB) using a AC input source (set to 1 V) with AC SWEEP from 1 Hz to 100 kHz. The cut-off frequency should be 15 kHz and the value of R = 4.7kΩ. 3. Using Multisim simulate the 2nd order Low Pass Filter in Figure 3 using the correct equations to find the values of the components. The value of R should be 4.7kΩ and the cut-off frequency should be 15kHz. Comment on how the cut-off frequency and the slope of the roll off compare to that of Part 1 above. 4. Using Multisim simulate the 2nd order High Pass Filter in Figure 5 using the correct equations to find the values of the components. Use a value of 15kHz for fc and C = 10nF. Plot the magnitude (dB) of the response and comment on the slope outside of the cut-off frequency. How does this compare to the plot in Part 2. 5. Using Multisim simulate the 4th order Band Pass Filter using a high and a low pass filter. The band width is to be 10KHz centred on 12 KHz. Select appropriate components based on parts 2 and 3 above. Comment on how the cut-off frequencies and the slopes of the roll off compare with what you have predicted.
