Hello there, I've worked for the last 18 years as a freelancer for a company which provides every kind of work you can imagine for editors and typographers, these include: book processing from A to Z: scanning, OCR, text capture, text transformation like conversion from "alte" into "neue Rechtschreibung" and vice-versa (even from the very old German, before 1900, gothic (Fraktur)), translations, proofreading, all preprint steps (layout etc), pdf-printing, structuring and conversions to XML, SGML after client's DTD and also image processing: Photos, Graphics, Maps. I have worked for a lot of major companies in Germany like: A-Z Satztechnik (F.A. Brockhaus AG), Acxiom, Books on Demand, BORN-Verlag GmbH, Cornelsen Verlag, Falter Verlag Wien (A), Gabal Verlag, GeraNova/Bruckmann GmbH, Gondrom Verlag GmbH, Gütersloher Verlagshaus, GWV Fachverlage AG: Vieweg, Teubner, Gabler, Magnus Verlag, Melzer Verlag, MVS Medizinsverlage, Panini Verlags, Psychosozial-Verlag, Schirner Verlag, Sybex Verlag GmbH, Thieme Verlag, Vogel Medien, Wiley VCH Verlag. The last major project I worked on was for Mairs-Dumont, where I worked on the Marco-Polo-books (the ones you find in every "Tankstelle"), a tourist guide on various countries and cities (over 250). In addition to native German skills I'm very good with Word, Excel, QuarkXPress, Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. I am interested in a longer collaboration, if you are too we should have a test-run
