GOAL: You, the Freelancer, will enable me to install the latest gnucobol 3.2 package from on my HP Elitedesk where I have just installed Ubuntu 24.04. BACKGROUND: I have been using gnucobol on Ubuntu 22.04 ever since I was able to use apt install to download it from a repository. I can no longer find gnucobol on the default repositories and I never again want to lose control of the application language I am using. I also found that apt updates over time started creating problems.
